If you missed Twisted Wheel back when the Oldham 3-piece first broke cover in 2008, here's a taste of what the fuss was about: fierce, furious uncompromising riffs and lyrics that rip and run as in 'She's a Weapon' and the surreal, too-real-to-be-right 'You Stole The Sun' - returning our eccentric, raw British rock 'n'roll to its roots.  This is them in the fledgling days with sounds fresh off the ground along with the contemporary anthem, 'Bad Candy' and the popular 'Big Issue' which never made the eponymous album.

More relevant than ever, the elemental sparcity of Twisted Wheel is the most eloquent articulation of today's confounded generation.  The appeal of the Wheel, however, is seen by their unrivalled ability to ram out live gigs with no press or promotion.  Fifty year old punks and true music connoisseurs pack in with hopeful rock chicks and the fourteen year old pogo-ers.

Frontman Jonny Brown's versatility leaves his peers in his wake - ranging from  instrumental epics like 'Bye Bye Wasp' to the punk blink-n'you'll-miss-it 'Racket' and 'Weapon' - slivers of emotion more intense than a chemical hit.

Four years on, their too-long-anticipated second album genuinely is in the can.  While the musical scene fragments, distorts, amalgamates and emulates, Twisted Wheel 2012 may prove to be the antidote - if not the real deal.
